Border Crimes in Texas Down by 60%

A crack down on illegal border crossings has produced a stunning reduction in crime for 27 Texas counties which border Mexico. The crime reduction is a result of increased enforcement because the border counties were being overrun by criminals and the federal authorities ignored local pleas for help. Officials say the border communities are far safer as a result.
